ARCHITECTURAL STAIR COMPONENTS

Integrated stair tread and nosing for a clean, continuous edge

LOPO porcelain stair tread tiles combine the walking surface and rounded nosing in one fired ceramic profile. The integrated edge helps create a consistent finish without exposing a contrasting body at the front of the step.

Colors, dimensions, profiles and surface finishes can be reviewed for project-based production. Final selections should be confirmed against an approved sample and the project’s slip-resistance, substrate and installation requirements.

WHY THIS PROFILE

A practical ceramic solution for coordinated stair finishes

The profile is developed for projects that need a defined front edge, repeatable module and a finish that can be coordinated with adjacent floor or wall materials.

01

Integrated nosing

The rounded front edge is formed as part of the tread, reducing the visual break between the horizontal surface and stair edge.

02

Project-based sizing

Dimensions can be reviewed around the stair geometry, profile limits, firing process and handling requirements.

03

Coordinated finishes

Matt, glazed and project-specific visual effects can be sampled to suit the surrounding material palette.

04

Fired ceramic body

The low-absorption ceramic body supports dimensional stability and routine maintenance for suitable applications.

TECHNICAL OVERVIEW

Confirm the profile around the actual stair build-up

Product typeFired ceramic stair tread tile with integrated nosing
Available size rangeWidths up to 600 mm and lengths up to 3,600 mm, subject to profile, finish, firing and handling review
Water absorptionApproximately 1% for the applicable model; confirm the current technical report for the selected product
Surface optionsMatt, glazed and project-specific visual effects, subject to sampling
CustomizationColor, size, surface and profile can be reviewed for project orders

Dimensions and performance figures are not a substitute for project specifications. LOPO confirms the applicable profile, tolerances, test data, packing method and production feasibility during technical review.

APPLICATIONS

Specify the finish for the traffic and exposure conditions

Stair tread selection should consider foot traffic, wet or dry conditions, cleaning, edge visibility and the requirements of the local building code.

Residential and hospitality

Villas, apartments, hotels and other interiors where a coordinated stair finish is part of the design language.

Commercial interiors

Offices, showrooms and circulation areas that require repeatable modules and clearly detailed stair edges.

Public buildings

Schools, libraries and civic spaces, subject to the project’s slip, wear, accessibility and maintenance criteria.

DETAILING CHECKLIST

Information to prepare before sampling

1

Share the stair section

Provide tread depth, riser height, substrate build-up, nosing radius and the required finished dimensions.

2

Define use conditions

Confirm interior or exterior use, expected traffic, wet-area exposure and any slip-resistance requirement.

3

Approve color and surface

Review physical samples under project lighting and agree an acceptable range before production.

4

Coordinate installation

The project designer and installer should confirm adhesive, joints, movement accommodation, edge alignment and curing protection.
