Plane panels give architects a calm terracotta surface with disciplined joints, natural material depth and the practical logic of a ventilated rainscreen. The restrained face lets colour, module and shadow lines carry the elevation.
Design character
A neutral panel face with architectural flexibility
Plane terracotta is suited to elevations where proportion and material consistency matter more than pronounced surface decoration. It can support long horizontal courses, balanced vertical grids or a mixed-module composition. Joint width, panel direction and subframe layout should be resolved together rather than treated as separate decisions.
Controlled rhythm
A flat face keeps attention on the designed module, joint pattern and openings. It works particularly well when the facade needs a quiet background for glass, metal, stone or landscape elements.
Natural clay colour
Terracotta colour is created through clay selection and firing. Subtle variation is part of the material character; the approved project sample should define the acceptable colour and surface range.
Ventilated assembly
The panels form the visible outer layer of a rainscreen system. Cavity depth, insulation, membranes, rails, anchors and movement details remain project-specific and must be coordinated by the facade team.

Resolve the facade as a coordinated kit of parts
Panel selection begins with the intended visual module, but the final proposal also needs elevation drawings, corner conditions, opening details, building height, design loads and the proposed support system. Edge pieces, returns and transition areas should be reviewed early so that the visible grid remains coherent.
Plane panels may be considered for new construction or facade renewal. Their suitability depends on the complete wall build-up and local requirements; the panel alone does not establish the performance of the wall.
