The project’s formal Chinese name is 阳江市综合文化中心, rendered here as Yangjiang Comprehensive Cultural Center.
The earlier English label “Yangjiang Seven Museums” is not a correct formal name. “七馆合一” was the construction shorthand for seven independently operated civic and cultural venues brought together in one complex; the seven are not all museums. This case preserves the four photographs published in December 2024 while separating official project facts, architect credits and LOPO’s dated product record.
Name, location and seven-venue programme
The Guangdong local-chronicles record places the project in Chengnan New Area, Yangjiang, Guangdong, and says it was renamed Yangjiang Comprehensive Cultural Center in 2022. The architect-submitted project profile gives the more specific address as 250 Siwei Avenue, Jiangcheng District, on the north side of Moyang Lake Park.
The seven institutions are the Yangjiang City Archives, Party History Museum, Local Chronicles Museum, Hall of Fame, Museum, Planning Exhibition Hall and Municipal Workers’ Cultural Palace. The Yangjiang discipline-inspection authority’s 2022 construction record confirms the same composition. “Seven venues in one” therefore describes programme integration, not a complex of seven museums.
Design, construction and opening record

LOPO product and role: what the records establish
The architect-submitted project data lists LOPO as the material brand. A 2024 Nanfang Plus project report says the Architectural Design & Research Institute of SCUT and LOPO Art Ceramics jointly developed the project-specific composite ceramic-rod facade. This supports a project-material and design-development relationship, but not an expanded claim that LOPO designed or installed the complete curtain wall.
LOPO’s supplier archive identifies the product as a white-glazed, rectangular terracotta baguette, item TCY400120003, with published axes W400 × H120 × L900 mm. Its related product page describes the item as customized for this project and says the cross-section changed during design development from 150 × 400 mm to 120 × 400 mm. Those are dated supplier fields, not a current standard-SKU promise or a transferable specification.
Keep site, building, exhibition and facade quantities separate

For contractual reuse, obtain the owner’s final as-built area schedule and the facade bill of quantities. Do not average conflicting records, sum the two fit-out areas into a whole-project exhibition figure, or convert gross floor area into a ceramic-screen quantity.
Facade intent is not measured performance
The architects describe a parameter-controlled vertical ceramic-rod screen whose angle and height vary around the curved elevations. They present it as a sunshade strategy and part of the building’s wave-like composition. That is a documented design intent. The checked public pages do not provide the calculation files, approved system drawings, project test reports or post-occupancy data needed to publish a quantified energy, thermal, daylight or comfort result.
The photographs can show repetition, curvature, spacing, angle changes and interfaces with glazing and the white metal support layer. They cannot establish fire behaviour, structural or wind capacity, falling-object resistance, water management, glaze durability, corrosion protection, cleaning access, maintenance interval, environmental impact or service life.
Evidence needed before using this facade as a precedent
- the owner-approved project identity, final milestone record, appointment matrix and general/facade contracts;
- the approved baguette code, full axes, section, wall thickness, chambers, tolerances, glaze sample and batch range;
- elevation quantities by type, angle and length, with purchase, delivery and installed-status records;
- rails, keels, anchors, movement, drainage, corners, terminations, openings and access/replacement routes;
- project-specific structural, wind, seismic, falling-object, fire, weathering and glaze evidence; and
- mock-up approvals, installation inspections, cleaning method, replacement stock and as-built handover.
Use the historical item only as a project reference. Review the current Terracotta Baguette category and request current project-specific samples, drawings, reports, availability and commercial terms rather than assuming that TCY400120003 remains a standard offering.
