Terracotta panel project support is most useful when product development, facade engineering and procurement decisions are coordinated early. The team must define the module, finish, fixing concept, performance criteria, approval route and delivery sequence that apply to the actual building.

Start with a concise project brief
A useful enquiry explains where and how the material will be used. Send the project country, building type, approximate facade area, elevations and relevant details. Identify intended panel sizes, orientation, surface, colour family and visible joint concept. Wind pressure, fire strategy, climate exposure, programme and local standards also shape the discussion.
Drawings do not need to be final. Early elevations and typical sections often reveal whether the proposed rhythm is compatible with manufacturing limits, corners and openings. Where several terracotta elements are involved, distinguish rainscreen panels, baguettes, solid tiles and special pieces so that each can be reviewed against its role.
Move from colour inspiration to an approval sample
Fired clay has a natural tonal range, and a screen photograph cannot define an approval standard. Begin with reference colours and textures, then request current physical samples. State whether the project seeks a narrow controlled range or a deliberately varied blend. Glazed, natural, grooved and custom surfaces can respond differently to viewing distance, sunlight and weather.

Agree what each sample represents and who can approve it. A small colour chip is not a substitute for a project mock-up, and neither establishes structural or weather performance unless the specified assembly has been tested for that purpose.
Coordinate the panel with the complete wall
A terracotta panel is one component of a facade. Panel geometry must work with rails, clips or brackets, cavity depth, insulation, membranes, flashings, fire stopping and the supporting structure. Allowances for tolerances, drainage, ventilation and replacement should be resolved in the system design.

Pay particular attention to starts and stops: parapets, soffits, sills, jambs, corners, expansion joints and transitions to glass or stone. These locations govern many special cuts and often determine whether a nominal module can continue cleanly across an elevation.

Document availability varies by product, configuration and market. A warranty, certificate or previous test report should never be assumed to cover a new size or fixing arrangement. List required standards and submission formats at enquiry stage so LOPO can confirm what is current, relevant and obtainable.
Plan quality control before production
Once the visual standard and schedule are approved, convert them into measurable controls. Confirm dimensional tolerances, permitted bow, colour range, surface quality, cut-piece labelling, packing sequence and inspection points. If multiple elevations or installation zones will be shipped separately, a coordinated mark and pallet schedule can reduce handling and site confusion.
Important: natural fired variation should be managed through an agreed range and sensible blending. Descriptions such as “no variation” or “never fading” are not suitable substitutes for product-specific acceptance criteria and current test data.
Allow enough time for sample development, approval, production, inspection and international transport. Late changes to module or colour can affect tooling, yield and programme, especially where special profiles or a narrow visual range are requested.
Prepare the site team for installation and handover
Before installation, verify the supporting construction, datum, bracket layout and delivered labels against approved drawings. Build a site benchmark showing alignment, joints, colour distribution and key interfaces. Protect panels from impact and contamination, and use handling and cutting methods suited to the selected product.
