Banan Linyuxi is a vertical terracotta baguette application archive, not a universal installation guide.
LOPO’s 2017 article records 50 × 50 mm baguettes arranged vertically around a low-rise residential-project building in Chongqing. The photographs show the completed facade effect, but they do not reveal the supports, anchors, internal components, loads, construction sequence or safety verification needed to reproduce it.
Project context recorded in 2017
The archive places Banan Linyuxi at No. 9 Yannan Avenue in Chongqing, close to Metro Line 3 and South Mountain. It names a nearby light-rail station as “Kane International” in its old English translation; that wording is retained as a dated source detail rather than standardized to a current station name.
The source reports a total construction area of nearly 200,000 m², a floor-area ratio of 2.32 and a greening rate of 32%. It refers to four development formats, but the translation does not support a reliable enumeration. No completion year, architect, facade consultant, structural engineer, contractor, installer, product item, baguette length, installed quantity or contract scope is supplied.

Recorded baguette design intent
The old article says the project’s architectural designers selected LOPO terracotta baguettes with a 50 × 50 mm section and installed them vertically to emphasize the building’s vertical lines. It also says some baguettes were set at angles according to the facade and shading intent. No angle, spacing, length, span, support position or orientation schedule was recorded.
The archive’s former product hyperlink included `T80160235` in its URL, but the project text did not identify that string as the installed item number. It is therefore not assigned to this case. Current item codes and dimensions must be confirmed from current product/project documents.

Why this is not an installation method statement
Despite the old title’s word “Installing,” the source contains no installation photograph, fixing diagram, rail section, anchor detail, bracket, pin, internal reinforcement, end cap, fastener, substrate, sealant, tolerance, access method or inspection record. All three body images show completed elevations.

What is missing
Unit length, weight, span, spacing, end restraint, intermediate supports, fixings, substrate, loads, movement, tolerances, fire interfaces, fall prevention and installation sequence.
Who must verify
The responsible architect, facade/structural engineers, system designer, product supplier, contractor, installer and authority, according to the project’s procurement and regulatory framework.
What evidence is needed
Current product data, coordinated drawings, calculations, connection/substrate evidence, required tests, samples, a supported mock-up, installation method and inspection/hand-over records.
Support, anchorage, loads and fall prevention
Define the complete load path from each terracotta unit through pins, inserts or other internal components where applicable, end or intermediate restraints, brackets, rails, anchors and the verified substrate. The project team must establish design wind, gravity, impact, seismic, vibration, maintenance and other actions; combinations and factors; allowable movements and deflections; and component/connection capacities under the governing requirements.

- support positions, end conditions, restraint directions, clearances and movement accommodation;
- bracket, rail, anchor and fastener materials, corrosion environment, edge distances and substrate capacity;

- special wind zones at corners, edges, roofs, screens and openings plus construction-stage loads;
- accessible-zone impact, climbing or grasping, sharp edges and contact with maintenance equipment; and
- calculations, testing, prototypes, mock-up, site anchor tests and inspection hold points required by the project.
No value or connection shown on this page is an approval. Historic dimensions cannot be transferred to a different unit length, orientation, span, exposure or substrate without project-specific verification.
Coordinate openings, corners and terminations

Keep solar intent separate from verified shading
The 2017 copy called the baguettes a sunscreen and linked their angles to shading needs, but it supplied no orientation, angle, spacing, depth, glass data, solar study or measured result. A new project must use its own solar/daylight model to coordinate seasonal sun, glare, views, internal loads and the visual pattern.
Changing angle or spacing can also change wind actions, torsion, support forces, cleaning access, sightlines and the appearance from different directions. These effects need coordinated design and a representative mock-up; the old photographs do not authorize an angle schedule.
Plan installation, QA and maintenance
Prepare a project-specific installation method covering setting out, surveys, access and lifting, storage/handling, support release, connection sequence, temporary restraint, torque or other controlled operations where applicable, tolerances, protection and stop-work criteria. Site teams must follow the engineered drawings, product/system instructions, site safety plan and local requirements.
Define incoming inspection, component identification, anchor/substrate checks, concealed-work hold points, alignment and angle surveys, connection records, damaged-unit isolation, nonconformance closure and final release. Handover should include as-built geometry, accessible inspection points, cleaning guidance, replacement method, spare-unit identification and owner responsibilities.
