Project identity and programme
LOPO’s 8 October 2020 record names the project “Chifeng City Complex” and places it in Songbei New City. It describes a frame-structure complex with above-ground rooms, underground rooms and outdoor supporting facilities. The listed programme includes an urban-planning exhibition hall, museum, youth activity centre, science and technology museum, cultural centre, news centre, and the Songshan District Employment and Social Security Service Centre.
The same supplier archive reports a gross floor area of 37,941 m², BOT delivery and an investment of RMB 195 million. Those values describe the overall complex, not the terracotta area. No checked record gives the site area, facade area by elevation, client, operator, architect, general contractor, facade contractor, start date or completion date, so those fields remain unassigned here.
Compact massing and differentiated entrances
The archive describes a box-like, highly compact arrangement used to place many independent functions on a constrained site. It records an event area at roof level, an internal atrium and four entrances, with functional zones designed to remain separate while connected. The photographs show that entrance areas are differentiated by changes in colour blocks, openings and facade segmentation rather than by a single uninterrupted skin.
Dated terracotta supply record
LOPO’s 2020 page attributes 16,000 m² of supplied terracotta panels to the project. It records a nominal thickness of 27 mm and face-height fields of 700, 550 and 500 mm, including window-sill conditions. The source does not provide item codes, colour codes, panel lengths, quantities by size, corner or return pieces, tolerances, joint widths, fixing components, spares, production batches or approved drawings.

Cold-climate claims need project-specific evidence
The old page moved from Chifeng’s cold climate to broad claims about freeze–thaw resistance, insulation and reduced energy use. Those conclusions cannot be established from photographs, a nominal panel thickness or the face material alone. A complete wall review must address the actual panel body and finish, water absorption and freeze–thaw test scope, retained strength, clips and rails, anchors and substrate, cavity drainage, insulation and air/water layers, movement, corrosion, fire stopping, thermal bridges and local regulatory requirements.
What to verify before using this case as a reference
- a current item and dimension schedule, approved colour range, full-size samples and multi-panel mock-up;
- elevation mapping for standard panels, sills, returns, corners, openings, parapets, bases and movement joints;
- project wind, impact, freeze–thaw, water, fire, thermal and durability requirements with reports that match the proposed product and assembly;
- defined responsibility for panels, clips, rails, brackets, anchors, substrates, insulation, membranes, drainage and fire stopping; and
- production traceability, inspections, non-conformance control, packing, installation sequence, spares and maintenance records.
