Freeze the exact clip revision
Request a current item code and drawing with every leg, hook, lip, return, bend, slot, hole, contact face, overall dimension, thickness, radius, edge, orientation, handedness, mass and tolerance. Obtain the exact alloy, temper, finish and fabrication information relevant to current supply.
Confirm whether 7504 remains current or has been replaced. Require traceable packaging, labels or part marking that connects delivered clips to approved drawings and material records. A visually similar clip with a small geometric difference may not engage or move in the same way.

Define how groove geometry is verified in production and at receiving under the project quality plan. The facing drawing should identify the measured feature and acceptance basis, while the clip drawing identifies its mating faces. If the groove is chipped, obstructed or outside the reviewed range, isolate the panel rather than forcing the clip into place.
Resolve the full tolerance chain
Combine panel, groove, clip, rail, bracket, anchor, substrate and survey tolerances. Check nominal and limiting fit, contact, clearance, adjustment, engagement and movement. Confirm that using adjustment at one interface does not reduce another below the approved system range.
Review fields, corners, openings, returns, top and bottom panels, movement joints and replacement zones. Do not solve clashes by unapproved bending, grinding, drilling, slot extension or packing. A field modification changes the controlled clip or interface and must return to qualified review.
Keep the load path system-specific
The facade and structural design should identify how applicable project actions pass from the panel groove through the clip and rail to the building. It should distinguish permanent support, restraint, retention, adjustment and movement and address relevant local conditions and boundary cases.
No clip capacity or arrangement can be inferred from the image or aluminum description. Calculations, tests or assessments must identify component revision, panel, groove, rail, fasteners, engagement and boundary conditions. Record every mismatch between evidence and the proposed system as open.
Prove access and replacement at design stage
Map the sequence for typical panels, corners, closures, bases, parapets and openings. Identify which clip and fastener interfaces remain reachable or inspectable at each stage. Check tool access and concealed-work review without turning the component article into a site method statement.
Where individual replacement is a project objective, demonstrate the proposed route on a representative assembly. Keep the replacement demonstration tied to an exact location type and access condition. A method shown for a typical field panel may not apply at a corner, parapet or constrained opening. Record required specialist review, component identity, access assumptions and limitations so the handover team does not generalize the trial beyond its approved scope.
Require matched evidence and production fit-up
Build a submittal matrix for clip drawing, material records, compatible panel and rail schedule, calculations, tests, fabrication checks, installation documents and inspection criteria. Verify current revisions, source and scope. A document for another groove or rail is not direct evidence.
Use production-intent components in a representative assembly to review fit, tolerance, contact, adjustment, access, sequence and replacement. A successful fit-up demonstrates coordination only; it does not generate a structural capacity or approve altered components outside the engineered package.
Inspect, record and preserve traceable spares
Set project hold points for receiving identity, panel and rail acceptance, clip orientation, engagement, fasteners, adjustment, movement and concealed-work inspection. Record clip lots and installed zones. Quarantine damaged, altered, unmarked or substituted components.
Use the terracotta rainscreen range and project references only as system context. Handover should retain approved drawings, engineering evidence, inspections, as-built locations, replacement procedure and protected, labelled spare clips.
