Wood-look terracotta gives the residential facade a finer grain
Four complete archive images document light-beige, textured terracotta around windows, terraces and curved building volumes at Shanshui Wenyuan Phase III. The record distinguishes visible design features from project data that remain unverified.

A phase-specific archive, not a whole-community specification
The current 2019 post names the larger Shanshui Wenyuan residential community. A more detailed LOPO supplier archive dated 11 December 2018 narrows the case to Phase III and adds the two named architectural designers. Public property records also place Shanshui Wenyuan Phase III on Hongyan Road in Beijing’s Chaoyang District and identify Beijing Kaiya as developer.
The same supplier archive reports a 1.8-hectare site and 120,000 m² of above-ground floor area for Phase III. Those numbers describe the residential phase, not the photographed elevations, terracotta area or panel quantity. No drawing register, schedule, purchase order, construction record or completion certificate was available in the reviewed material.
Material hierarchy
Pale wood-look panels form quiet fields beside darker window and recess bands. The contrast is visible, but photographs cannot identify body colour, finish code or production batch.
Vertical rhythm
Panel joints and dark-brown strips establish a predominantly vertical cadence. Widths vary by viewpoint; no module or setting-out dimension should be measured from the images.
Curved transitions
Flat facade zones meet rounded volumes and framed openings. These views are useful design references, not evidence of the hidden supports, corner pieces or movement details.
Four-image archive record
The three original body images remain in WXR order. The existing featured attachment is added as the fourth figure so the complete 300 × 204 source remains available after the theme’s cropped duplicate thumbnail is suppressed. Every image is self-linked and shown at its stored proportions without enlargement.
What can be carried into a current project brief
The dated archive supports a visual precedent: light-beige terracotta with a timber-like surface and additional grooves, set vertically with dark-brown metal divisions. “Wood-look” describes appearance only; it does not mean solid timber and does not establish current colour availability, repeat pattern, weathering, fire, water, thermal or structural performance.
Recover the approved finish
Locate the historic sample, finish or colour code, profile drawing, batch record and replacement-stock log. If they are unavailable, approve a new control sample instead of matching a web photograph.
Rebuild the module
Confirm panel dimensions, orientation, joint widths, metal-strip finish, window returns, corners, curved transitions and the relationship between narrow and broad facade zones from project drawings.
Verify the full assembly
For any new use, the responsible team must coordinate substrate, support and anchors, movement, drainage, cavity, insulation, fire interfaces, tolerances, access and replacement against the actual project and jurisdiction.
Case-study limits
- Do not treat the 2018 or 2019 publication date as the construction or completion year.
- Do not convert the phase site or floor-area figures into terracotta facade area or panel quantity.
- Do not infer a catalogue model, panel dimensions, fixing method, system build-up or performance result from the four photographs.
- Keep the architect names, design company and LOPO development statement attributed to the dated supplier archive until primary project records confirm them.
- Do not expand a historic product-development attribution into facade design, installation or whole-project contract responsibility.
