This case archive documents terracotta cladding photographed at the relocated Miyun hospital campus in Beijing.
It combines the dated product record from LOPO’s January 2018 article with the institution identity and relocation dates now published by the Miyun District government. Conflicting areas and completion dates are shown rather than silently reconciled.
Institution identity and relocation record
The Miyun District government institution listing identifies the hospital under its current Chinese name, gives its address in Miyun District and records a 1955 founding. It states that the relocation project began on 28 April 2011, was completed in August 2014 and entered use on 20 October 2014.
LOPO’s 2018 archive agrees on the start and opening dates but gives 28 May 2014 as completion. It also records a 57,000 m² site and about 37,000 m² construction area. The current government listing reports much larger overall site and building figures, so the older numbers cannot safely be presented as the hospital’s current totals; they may reflect a different project boundary, phase or an inaccurate historical source.
Award material is retained without a causal claim
The old page presented the following certificate, medal and trophy montage as evidence of a “2014–2015 National Quality Project Award.” No issuer record or award citation was linked, and the image alone does not establish the award category, recipient, project scope or LOPO’s role.
Recorded ivory-white terracotta cladding
The dated product schedule names item F4518001, colour Ivory White and nominal size 450 × 900 × 18 mm. The photographs show a light-toned modular field around dark window bands and glazing, with panel joints readable across the tower and lower blocks.
Those fields are a 2018 historical record, not a current product offer. Availability, colour range, surface, manufacturing tolerances, quantities and replacement compatibility must be checked against current samples and project documents. The old page gives no installed area or unit quantity.
Entrance and facade composition
The street-level photographs show a lower entrance wing beside the taller hospital block. Light rectangular panels provide a continuous datum around window openings, while a darker vertical glazed strip and projecting slabs divide the larger mass.
Panel and joint layout
Coordinate current module, joint width, colour range, corner conditions, openings, returns, soffits and replacement access from approved drawings and samples.
Support and movement
Qualified project parties must establish substrates, brackets, anchors, load paths, movement accommodation, tolerances and falling-object safeguards.
Water and enclosure
Assign drainage, ventilation where applicable, membranes, flashings, seals, interfaces and testing to the complete specified wall system.
Healthcare boundary
Exterior photographs and a panel item do not evidence infection control, interior hygiene, clinical continuity, fire safety or patient-safety outcomes.

Information required for a current facade brief
- project identity, building/phase boundary, current drawings, survey and responsible design team;
- selected panel item, finish, dimensions, tolerances, colour range, quantities and approved samples;
- complete wall build-up, support/anchors, loads, movement, joints, drainage, waterproofing and openings;
- project-specific fire, thermal, acoustic, weather, corrosion, impact, maintenance and replacement requirements;
- applicable local regulations, authority approvals, test evidence, calculations and facade-access strategy; and
- representative mock-up, acceptance criteria, inspection hold points, records and handover information.
The former page’s generic energy-saving, environmental and material-performance statements are not carried forward. Evidence must apply to the identified product and complete proposed assembly under the actual project’s exposure and regulatory conditions.
