Grooved Finish Terracotta Facade Panel FG503463

FG503463 is an archived LOPO grooved terracotta facade panel reference in a red fired-clay tone. Its deep, repeated ribs create pronounced shadow lines, giving the surface more directional character than a flat panel. The groove width, depth, spacing and panel orientation can all be adjusted in principle, but current manufacturing limits and the complete facade assembly must be confirmed for each project.

How grooves change the facade

A grooved face is not merely decorative. In oblique daylight, each rib casts a small shadow, so the elevation changes as the sun moves. Closely spaced grooves create a finer texture, while deeper or wider profiles read from farther away. Horizontal ribs can stretch a facade visually; vertical ribs can reinforce height and make rain streaking or panel alignment more noticeable.

The rhythm should be coordinated with joints, openings and corners. If the groove spacing stops awkwardly at a cut edge, the interruption may be more visible than on a flat panel. Full-size samples help the architect judge shadow, colour and scale together before committing to an elevation-wide pattern.

Define the number, spacing, width and depth of grooves, plus the flat margins at panel edges. These details affect visual continuity and may influence cleaning.

Panel module

Set out real elevations to reduce narrow cuts. Coordinate the rib direction with window heads, sills, parapets, corners and soffits.

Colour range

Approve representative fired-clay samples and decide how normal tonal variation should be distributed across deliveries and the installed wall.

Support system

Review the hollow section, edge profile, clips, rails, brackets, cavity, insulation and membranes as one facade assembly, not separate products.

These should be translated into measurable project requirements.
