An exterior rainscreen brief should connect exposure conditions to every critical interface.
This checklist organizes wind and rain exposure, wetting and drying, freeze–thaw review, corrosion environment, drainage paths, openings, the wall base, parapets and adjoining materials. It also preserves PG258 images and data published in November 2016 without treating those archived values as current product or system commitments.
Location, elevation zones and exposure conditions
Openings, base, top, corners and transitions
Drainage, cavity, support and adjacent materials
Evidence, mock-ups, inspections and responsibilities
Start with an exposure register, not a generic exterior label
Record the building location and use, height and geometry, orientation, local wind and rain conditions, temperature range, freeze–thaw exposure where relevant, coastal or industrial contaminants, solar exposure, ground splash, snow or ice conditions, impact zones and maintenance access. Divide the elevations into zones when corners, parapets, setbacks, entrances or lower levels have different actions or wetting patterns.
The selected terracotta panel is only the outer layer. The support system, cavity, insulation, air-and-water control layers, flashings, fire barriers and backing wall must be coordinated as a complete project assembly. The main Terracotta Rainscreen page covers current product information; the Ventilated Rainscreen Guide explains the wall layers; and the Facade Responsibility Matrix helps assign system decisions.

Archived PG258 record from November 2016
The original page published the following fields on 8 November 2016. Units are normalized for readability. Confirm every value through current product data, testing scope, feasibility review and quotation before specification or procurement.
| 2016 field | Archived value | Current-use boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Item / model | PG258 | Use as an archive reference; confirm active status, body, profile and finish. |
| Size | Customized | No dimensions or limits were stated. Submit the proposed module, geometry, tolerances and edge conditions. |
| Colour | MIX | Approve a current physical range, distribution method and batch-control record. |
| Surface finish | 3D Inkjet | Confirm current construction, texture, print scale, repeat and edge treatment. |
| Material | Natural Clay | A historical description, not environmental or application evidence. |
| Weight | 31 kg/m² | No configuration, method or tolerance was cited. Obtain a current scoped value for design and logistics. |
| Water absorption | Less than 0.5% | No standard, specimen, laboratory or report was supplied. Require current product-specific evidence. |
| Thickness | 18 mm | Confirm the current section, tolerances and compatibility with the proposed support interface. |
| Minimum order | 1,500 m² | A dated commercial entry only. Request a current quotation for the selected scope. |
| Lead time | 35 days | A dated estimate only. Current timing follows approvals, production, quantity, packing and destination. |
| Legacy certification text | CE, ISO 9001:2008 | Not presented as current. Verify holder, scope, site, product, issuer and validity. |
| Legacy order route | Old order button to `/contact-us/` | Use the current Contact page. |
Preserve the six finish references, then select current samples
The original board identifies PG009, PG258, PG252, PG008, PG727 and PG725. It remains complete and readable. These are 2016 archive identifiers, not confirmed current SKUs, and screen colours cannot replace dated physical samples.

Approve current samples under relevant light and viewing distance. Record the permitted range, pattern repeat, orientation, blending approach and replacement reference without assuming that the archived image represents present production.
Translate exterior exposure into project checks
Wind and local zones
Define project design actions and local corner, edge, parapet and setback zones. Qualified teams must verify panel, support, anchors, substrate and movement for the actual geometry.
Rain and wetting
Identify prevailing rain, runoff, splashback, ledges and concentrated discharge. Coordinate an accepted water-management strategy rather than relying on the outer panel alone.
Freeze–thaw and temperature
Where relevant, specify current product evidence with the applicable method, specimen and acceptance criteria, and coordinate temperature movement across panels, supports and interfaces.
Corrosion environment
Record coastal salts, industrial contaminants, dissimilar metals, concealed wetting and drainage. Select supports, fasteners, coatings and separation details through project-specific review.
Impact and access
Mark entrances, walkways, service areas, maintenance routes and lower levels. Define impact criteria, inspection access and a safe replacement strategy.
Adjacent materials
Review differential movement, runoff, staining, sealant compatibility, galvanic separation, tolerances and sequencing wherever terracotta meets metal, glass, masonry, concrete or roofing.
Resolve drainage and interface details
Coordinate heads, jambs and sills; support terminations; flashings; water-control continuity; cavity closures; drainage and replacement access.
Address splash, clearance, drainage discharge, ventilation, impact, paving interfaces, snow or debris and inspection access.
Coordinate coping, wind zones, cavity termination, membrane continuity, runoff, drips, movement and maintenance.
Resolve panel orientation, cut edges, joint rhythm, local supports, tolerances and differential movement.
Detail interfaces with glazing, roofs, soffits, balconies, canopies, penetrations and other cladding systems.
Carry the project movement strategy through panels, supports, membranes, flashings, cavity barriers and adjoining work.
Drainage openings, flashings and cavity routes must remain coordinated and inspectable. Do not copy a schematic termination as a universal construction detail: dimensions, materials, fasteners, membranes, barriers and sequencing depend on the selected system, substrate, exposure and local requirements.

Treat the 2016 application list as historical context
The original article marketed the product for exterior walls on new and renovated buildings; metro, railway, tunnel and underground projects; European- or American-style buildings and villa walls or roofs; ceilings; office buildings, commercial podiums and other public projects; interior walls; and surgery rooms, clean rooms, pharmaceutical facilities and food-production workshops.
The list is retained for traceability, not as approval or universal suitability. Each use requires a current review of exposure, substrate, fixing, movement, structural actions, fire strategy, water management, access, hygiene or emissions criteria, cleaning and regulations.

Use the related guides for product, layers and responsibility
This page remains the exposure-and-interface checklist. Use the current product page for panel information, the ventilated guide for wall layers, the facade-systems article for responsibility allocation and the installation guide for coordination and troubleshooting boundaries.
Prepare the exterior exposure and interface brief
Send the project location, elevation zones, panel schedule, support concept, interface drawings, required evidence, quantity, programme and delivery destination for review. Final system design, exposure checks, testing, approvals and compliance remain project-specific.
