Exterior Terracotta Facade Tile: 2013 Archive Guide updates a short LOPO listing without treating its legacy fields as current specifications. The old page described a full-body tile family with a 240 × 60 × 11 mm main format, corner units and several general functions. These details can help trace a former product concept, but present identity, colour, dimensions, performance, availability and commercial terms all need new written confirmation.

Understand the 2013 facade tile entry

The archive combined the main tile with two corner notations, approximately 4% water absorption and acid, heat, non-slip, wear and firebrick language. It also included uses, packaging, 20-foot-container capacity, minimum order, sample timing and order lead-time fields. None of those values or claims should be carried into a live specification unchanged.

The page’s single original body image remains unchanged for recognition. It is not a calibrated sample, a verified current product photograph or proof of exterior-wall performance.

Use the slender module for design research

A 240 × 60 mm face suggests close horizontal coursing, a fine vertical arrangement or mixed directional studies. The module can influence perceived scale, shadow and visual movement across an elevation. Yet the archived dimensions do not confirm today’s format range, tolerances, edge geometry or production status.

Prepare elevation extracts that include openings, bases, parapets, corners and changes of material. Request a current drawing before a candidate is scheduled. If LOPO proposes another size, revise the design study and quantities rather than keeping the old module as an unstated assumption. These are compositional checks, not generic setting-out or installation instructions.

Confirm current field and corner pieces

The two old corner descriptions may represent different return arrangements, but notation alone cannot establish their shape, compatibility or use. Ask whether matching corner units exist for the exact current tile, how they are identified commercially and which labelled samples correspond to each piece. Check appearance across changes of plane using physical material.

Colour and texture can vary with body, firing, surface and light. Review a representative range beside adjacent glass, metal, stone, coatings and joint materials. Record product code, colour, finish, sample date and role. Photography supports coordination, while the approved physical benchmark should control the intended appearance.

Apply a strict boundary to old functions

The former acid, heat, non-slip, wear-resistant and firebrick statements do not prove present test results, classifications or project suitability. “Exterior wall cladding” in the title does not itself establish weather resistance, freeze-thaw behaviour, fire performance, attachment capacity or complete assembly compliance. The approximate absorption value also needs current product-specific evidence.

Archive boundary: full-body wording, all main and corner dimensions, about 4% absorption, acid, heat, non-slip, wear and firebrick functions, listed applications, packing, container capacity, MOQ, sample timing and order lead time belong solely to the 2013 record.

Request dated reports or declarations that clearly identify the proposed current product, specimen, method, result, scope and market. Qualified project specialists should determine which criteria and approvals apply. Do not interpret heat-resistant or firebrick language as a present fire-safety conclusion, and do not assign tile-level evidence to an assembled wall.

Build a current project evidence request

Ask for the current product name, manufacturing source, material and surface description, colour range, available formats, corner pieces, nominal dimensions, tolerances and intended uses. Confirm sample status, quantities, packaging, minimum order, production window, delivery and payment through a current quotation, not the archived commercial fields.

The appointed team must resolve building-specific substrate, exposure, moisture, movement, interfaces and support design using confirmed current system information. This archive provides no generic loads, spans, support spacing, anchors or installation instructions. Keep each sample, drawing, report and quotation linked to one exact candidate so documentation from different products is not mixed.

Request a current facade tile review

Share the project location, facade area, elevation extracts, target colour and texture, corner conditions, adjacent materials, approximate quantity and programme. Cite the archived 240 × 60 × 11 mm field format and both corner notations so LOPO can trace the former product family.

Email roger@lopoterracotta.com or use the contact form. Request current product identification, representative labelled samples, dated drawings, applicable evidence and project-specific commercial information.

Maintain a comparison record for product identity, appearance, field and corner sizes, sample role, drawing revision, evidence and commercial status. Reconcile the approved physical range with the quotation and technical documents before specification or purchase. This turns an archive lead into a traceable review without promoting former properties or supply fields as current facts.

Before approval, classify every physical piece as inspiration, a representative range sample or a proposed production benchmark. Verify that the sample identifier matches current field and corner drawings and the relevant evidence package. When the candidate changes, update elevations, schedules, quantities, approvals and commercial records together, then close or carry forward outstanding questions in a dated decision log.
